near esja mountain

- reykjavik looks like there wasn't anything like a zoning map. the buildings are cobbled together like they had no sense for the aesthetics of a cityscape.
- many of the houses are built using corrugated metal sheets.
- icelandic people are said to be polite. and until now, it seemed to be that way.
- they don't blow their noses in public.
- the weather changes from snow to sun to stormy at least one time per day. which makes the colours of the landscape look even more fascinating.
- the warm water smells like.. kind of a fart. because it contains sulfur. but it doesn't cost anything.
- the swimming pool we went a few days ago was completely open-air, the entrance was cheap, it contained a steam bath and various hot pools with different temperatures - although it was only a small swimming complex in our district, mainly used by icelandics
